Age is Not a Hindrance for Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather‘s 43rd professional boxing fight on May 5th will be a fight for his title of being undefeated. Mayweather is as confident as ever in securing victory against the Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto on the ring at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The welterweight boxing champion Miguel Cotto would once again face another tough opponent in the person of the undisputable boxing superstar, Floyd Mayweather.

The “Money” (Mayweather) is known for his slick and indestructible defense that is so unpredictable. This strategy of Mayweather made it hard for his opponents to knock him out. The Puerto Rican warrior is a strong wrecking fighter. He has an aggressive offense that would surely crash anyone along his way. These two complimenting forces would leave the ring with thrill and excitement on whose force would dominate more- the defensive Mayweather or the offensive Cotto. They are both taking on a serious challenge.

Though age somehow matters, Mayweather still believes he is still in good shape and in best physique now that he is already 35 years old. Most of the boxers in this age would be already thinking of ending their career as a professional boxer. In an interview with, Mayweather proudly said, “I don’t really look at the age as a factor, I feel that I’m still looking strong, I’m sparring with a lot of young guys – tough, strong, big guys; guys that are pressing me and pushing me, things that I need to prepare for a fight of this magnitude. Do I think age is going to play a factor? At this particular time, I can’t say. Once I go out there and that bell rings, then we’ll have to see.”

We would see this coming May 5 if this statement would really mark a history in the boxing industry.
