Erik Morales could run out of luck against Danny Garcia

Thirty five year old WBC light welterweight champion Erik Morales (52-7, 36 KO’s) was more or less defeated for his second consecutive fight against little-known fringe contender Pablo Cesar Cano (22-1, 17 KO’s) inside a 10th round stoppage to assert the vacant World Boxing Council light welterweight strap last September.

Morales will now defend his title for the first time against #3 WBC ranked contender Danny Garcia (22-0, 14 KO’s) on March 24th in the still to be determined venue in Houston, Texas. Morales was hoping to get big fights up against the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao, but he’s been pretty much ignored by each of them.

Erik Morales vs Danny Garcia Rescheduled on March 24

At last, after the postponement of the Morales vs Garcia fight, which was originally set this coming January 28, 2012, it was now finally set to March 24, 2012. We will witness how Morales performs in this fight as everybody is expecting that he will win this fight because they believe he is a strong fighter after he won against Manny Pacquiao last 2005 via unanimous decision. And we all know that Manny Pacquiao is the pound-for-pound king, but the question is, will megafight still happen this year?
